"I've been exhibiting photographs for more than two decades, using traditional film, printing, and hand-painting methods, and am excited by the opportunities afforded by digital capture as well. I've found both methodologies wonderfully effective in the attempt to communicate a sense of beauty, clarity, and solitude in the work.
"I'm also extremely interested in the role artists play in our communities, and the many challenges facing artists in contemporary society. I belong to both formal and informal artist groups and for several years hosted a commentary group for artists of widely varied media.
"I have conducted workshops in California at the Center for Photographic Arts in Carmel and the University of California at Santa Cruz, and have been fortunate to study with photographers David Bayles, Ted Orland, Paul Caponigro, Martha Casanave, and Brian Taylor."
